Polysulphate is a cool new member of a forward-thinking farm alliance
As fertilizer usage is a contributor to the carbon footprint and environmental performance of a farm, we are pleased to be represented in an international industry platform that is helping farmers with the development and use of metrics for sustainable agriculture.
It’s cool to calculate
The Cool Farm Alliance has a clear mission: to enable millions of growers globally to make more informed on-farm decisions that reduce their environmental impact. The organization, of which ICL Fertilizers is a member, offers advice and initiates research that supports good farm management. It also offers the free-to-use Cool Farm Tool, which is an online greenhouse gas, water and biodiversity calculator for farming.
Polysulphate lowers the carbon footprint of farming
Polysulphate fertilizer products have a lower carbon footprint than alternatives. Many farmers are interested to choose Polysulphate to lower their carbon footprint. Today there are a number of initiatives to help raise awareness of the farm inputs and management practices that have a positive effect environmentally – and help motivate farmers to use them.
Communicating positive farm environmental progress up the food supply chain
There are numerous benefits of using Polysulphate, including improved crop yield, quality and returns on investment made in production. But the other results, such as contributing to overall improved farm environmental performance, are of interest to a rising proportion of food manufacturers, retailers and consumers who look to evidence from audits or accreditation for reassurance that the farmer or grower is practicing sustainable agriculture.
